A Mediocre Monday..

For some reason the date shown above is yesterday's date..Its' the first of August today :)

Turned into a beautiful morning with beautiful children. Shelley VanDelden and her three adorable children popped in for a little visit this morning and Asha ran across the room yelling; "Miss Larissaaa i missed youu!" Haha such a warm welcome first thing in the morning, makes youre whole day that much better. Attached is a photo of Asha and Summer chilling in Alicia's lil Dora couch :) Off to work early this afternoon, so this brightens my day just a little bit more.

Inspiration

Tonight my beautiful sister-in-law Kylie posted a photo on my facebook wall. A little bit of inspiration was founded when i saw the picture. Suitcases piled on top of one another, a frame with old fashioned postcards and a key dangling. A world map ball, enticing the need for travel. Accompanying the picture was a quote Kylie found which i think is quite amazing.

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” - St. Augustine

This is what inspires me. The vintage style, the classy wooden floors, the simplicity. Its love.

NEW

New job, New friends, New events to plan..
This month has become incredibly busy and yet quite exciting all in the space of a week. Its hard to believe that just last week Thursday i received a phonecall to come interview for a waiter/barista position at the new Italian restaurant in Rockingham; Andiamo's. My first thought when walking in was WOW, Rockingham is about to receive some class again. The decor, the service, the food, everything was prim and quite honestly, perfect. Upperclass for sure. Now it has been over a week and i am loving every minute of the White shirt, black pant uniformed occupation. Hospitality truly is a rewarding career and i am truly having the time of my life with this new opportunity that God has granted me. The split shifts and long hours are a killer, but my back and sore feet are telling me that i'm doing a good job. As does my Boss and my co-workers. I honestly think i've found somewhere that i fit in. So definitely come in and try out Andiamo's. The service alone will impress you. I kid you not.

As for the rest of my time (Which isn't much considering the split shifts) I have kept busy with my beautiful family and one day this week i had a social committee event for all the children of our primary school to come to the Church Creche and have a kids' art n craft day. Fun was had by all as the terracotta pots were painted, the jars were filled with bath salts, and the modelling clay was molded into beautiful little magnets. I made 40 cupcakes that morning and let the children decorate one cupcake each. Was a beautiful day and the sunshine held out for most of it.
Here are a couple pictures to entertain you.

Ever Mine, Ever Thine, Ever Ours..

Were words written long long ago. I have recently started writing a book and literature seems to come in handy. Whethers its poised words by Charles Dickens or a simply lovely sonnet by Shakespeare, its inspirational. Below is an excerpt from my book, something i wrote about Kate Dingemanse. My cousin, my friend, my sister. I hope you like it :)

Her name is Kate Kristell Dingemanse. My cousin by nature, sister by faith and close friend by default. This girl doesn't realise her beauty and the effect it has on others which is what makes her so amazing. Her personality is effervescent and it bubbles everywhere. Living three thousand miles away from eachother doesn't pull us apart like it would for most people, it just makes the time we spend together that much more special. Most people are envious of her nature and God-given beauty, but neither cloud the truly amazing woman she has become. I've seen a little girl running around in overalls and gumboots turn into a beautiful and amazing young woman. High heels, dresses and bangles lining her arm are merely adornments to her beauty. Her laughter and hilarious little quirks are immensely contagious and you can't help but want to join in, forever.

The way she cares for others is to be admired and continually adored for anyone who meets her. She studies hard to work with children, and will one day make an amazing mother. More in demand than a modern-day Marilyn Monroe, she is insanely gracious to all those that request her time. Her quirky nature is somewhat only visible to those who truly know her well, and there is something so simply beautiful about that kind of vulnerability, it holds an innocence. Silly voices and hilarious anecdotes are just part of her quirkiness. This girl knows that beauty only runs skin deep, but her loveliness goes far beyond that. She truly loves like a child of God should. So a few wise words are in order. To all those males out there brave enough to try and win her heart; come prepared.

Fight for her, be calm and at the right times aggressive. Be caring and passionate, loving and hopeful. Just remember, if you're by some chance extremely lucky and do actually win her love, you better never let her go or let her down. Stand up for her, believe in her always, encourage her dreams and love her for every fibre of her being. For if you forget to do these things; there are over a thousand others lined up behind myself ready to hurt you or make you regret even a thought of taking a step in the other direction. She truely is a wonderful young woman who has blossomed into her own. I have no doubt that she will someday change the world. I love you Kate Kristell.

You mean the world to me

Its been a while..

Since i last made a post but here's an update for the past couple of months..

I celebrated my 20th birthday with family and friends and went down to Busselton with all the Reitsema family for a big reunion. Family is everything!

I went to Tasmania on a surprise trip for Kate's birthday (she had no idea)
I arrived on the 24th May at Launceston airport..Marty K picked me up and we headed straight to Kate's Birthday dinner at the Newstead Hotel. I had an amazing Eleven days in Tassie with friends and my beautiful cousins and other family. On the 4th June i came back to WA..with more than a suitcase. I took Kate back with me for two weeks (her school holiday break) and had a crazy time with her. Photoshoots, slumber barely an option as we partied constantly. Bowling, movies, watching an entire season of Vampire diaries..it was truly relaxing and fun for all. Sadly, Kate left again for the mainland and i was sad to be sleeping alone in my bedroom again.

Alas, she returns in four weeks for the engagement and i'm sure more adventures will be had! Here are some photos from the past few months:

My time in Tasmania--amazing, as always!

Time to bowl!

16th June 2011, Kate Kristell and Larissa Janelle..traipsed through Minnawarra Park (Armadale) in stockinged feet, laced dresses and parasols and posed for the wonderful photographer Kylie Hidding for a gorgeous vintage photoshoot. An amazing day and such beautiful sunshine <3 xxx
